Last month, at RADIATE-In Awe, I had the opportunity to join Pastor Rich Perez from Christ Crucified Fellowship and director, Andy Young, of the Cru Philly team in a couch discussion in front of 1000 students.
Here is that interview following a great talk called "cities" by Pastor Rich. (starting at minute 53)

With Cru, I help serve a diverse group of students and faculty so that they may know Christ and experience His life, embrace His love, and lead in living out His mission.

Generosity develops Joy

What I learned today from some of you is that when someone in the body of Christ is generous, it develops a deep joy and appreciatio, not only for that person, but for God who laid it on that person's heart. Tonight at Cru, 11 students prayerfully decided to attend Fall Retreat from Kean Cru. Four of them said they can pay $50 and would need scholarships for the rest. They others have freshmen scholarships and can pay the rest. One girl came to me and admitted she really wanted to go but previously made a commitment to her church so instead asked if she could scholarship someone $60! Now one other student only needs to raise or come up with $39. :)
How great is God to provide?! I don't know where the last four scholarships of $49 will come from but I'm not concerned because my God always comes through!
If you think you are one of the ways He is coming through and would lie to scholarship one of these students to be challenged to lift the veils of their lives, you can visit give.ccci.org and give to account # 2868515. That's the Kean Cru account specifically.

Kean Cru Light Sounds

Throughout the past year and a half, I have re-gathered and aligned the Cru student leaders at Kean University who have a heart to reach the campus as though they were missionaries sent to it. These are mature believers in Christ, passionate about seeing God's kingdom come. Last year we prayed for men leaders and this year, God provided six men who have stepped up to leadership. We also prayed for more students to come hear about God's love during our Bible Studies and 50 students showed up regularly during our Thursday night Bible studies last semester (including someone practicing Islam and another struggling with homosexuality). Last semester we prayed that God would make His name known at Kean; so that Jesus' name would no longer be common as a swear word but as legitimate conversation about who He was and why we live like He is! This semester the student leaders at Kean Cru planned how they can effectively reach their campus for Christ. After they won the "Special Projects" award (a grant for any event a non-funded group wants to put on), they used the money to plan a jazz music/spoken-word night called "light sounds". The outreach was fully funded by Kean University Student Org! The intention of the night was to show how college students who enjoy music, poetry, and FREE FOOD can also love and live for Jesus Christ. This wonderful event made the Cougar's Byte (pictured above) the following week and even the social media site, KeanXchange.
Praise God! His name is being made famous! :)

My Job, My Life

Despite the fact that I am a proud New-YoRican, God called me to serve with the Jersey Metro Team of Campus Crusade for Christ in the Garden State known as New Jersey.
In August of 2008 I began raising support to be a full-time missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ on the college campuses of New Jersey. Here’s an update on the past six years of my life:
As a freshman at Kean University in 2003 studying to work as an interpreter for the Deaf, I began to develop a love for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and fellowshipping with other believers. The staff of Campus Crusade for Christ sought me out and helped me learn how to consistently draw nearer to the Lord and clearly communicate my faith with not-yet believers. Over the following four years as I studied to be an interpreter, I also grew strong in my relationship with God and peers.
In May of 2007 my love for the Lord surpassed my love for interpreting and after I graduated with a bachelor’s degree I became an intern with Campus Crusade for Christ. On the New Jersey Metro campus ministry team, I had the opportunity to work especially close with young women on college campuses in the Northern counties of New Jersey and a few deaf students from all around the state. During a conference for Juniors & Seniors called “neXt” in 2008, God placed it on my heart to join staff full-time. I’m excited about this move because for many years I have had the desire to serve the Lord through ministering to young adults.

I can’t wait to help bring college students into an active fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ so that they find themselves eternally happy with God’s relentless love and walking in the Holy Spirit to display that love to the world!
Until that time arrives, I'm raising support as my full-time job. Sadly, I cannot report to campus to do what I'm passionate about until I am at 100%. As of now, I'm at 59% and meeting new people to discuss the ministry with.
If you're interested in partnering or learning more, stay tuned.
